Abstract:

In the study, the definitions of the concept of time in the history of thought, which has been going on for centuries; It has been researched with the literature review method by referring to scientific foundations, current researches and interpretations accepted in the physics and philosophy community. By means of definitions and classifications attributed to time, a fruitful discussion ground has been tried to be created regarding the changing perception of time with smart phones, one of the communication tools in new media environments. Literature review and descriptive creation method were used in the research. In this study, which focuses on the relationship between smartphones and the concept of time; With the rising technology, the effects of new features of mobile phones on the concept of time have been evaluated. As a result of the discussion and findings, in the context of the concept of time, the privileged position of smartphones in the modern world and its changing mental meaning in new media environments were evaluated.The main argument of this study; It is the view that the "new" features of smartphones in today's technology conditions gradually stretch, transform and will continue to transform the mental and social meanings of time/space dimensions.
