Doğu ile Batı arasında bir köprü konumunda olan Endülüs, İslam kültür ve medeniyetinde önemli bir yere sahiptir. Müslümanların Endülüs’e yerleşmesiyle birlikte burada sosyal, kültürel ve ekonomik olarak büyük bir gelişme yaşanmıştır. Bu gelişmenin etkilerini günümüzde birçok alanda görmek mümkündür. Bu ilerlemenin bir sonucu olarak bölgede Arap dili ve edebiyatı da gelişme göstermiş ve ünü günümüze kadar ulaşan birçok Endülüslü âlim yetişmiştir. Bu âlimlerden biri, Endülüslü edip ve şair Ebü’l-Velîd Süleymân b. Halef b. Sa‘d et-Tücîbî el-Bâcî’dir. el-Bâcî, farklı alanlarda eser kaleme almıştır. Zahiriyye mezhebinin büyük temsilcisi, meşhur İbn Hazm’ın çağdaşı olan el-Bâcî, daha çok fıkıh, hadis ve edebiyat alanında ön plana çıkmıştır. el-Bâcî, en-Nasîhatü’l-Velediyye adlı edebi bir eser kaleme almıştır. İki çocuğuna yaptığı nasihatleri barındıran bu eser, önemli bir nasihatname olup günümüze kadar ulaşmıştır. Değerlerin sonraki kuşaklara aktarılmasında nasihatlerin önemi büyüktür. Bu çalışmada değerlerin nesilden nesile aktarılmasında bir köprü görevi gören nasihat/nasihatname geleneği ve günümüz çocuk eğitimindeki yeri üzerinde durulmuştur.
