Özet:

Textbooks are among the most important teaching materials for both teachers and students in the education process. The subject of this research is the examination of the textbooks used in the religious education course in the faculties of theology and Islamic Sciences. In this context, 4 of them were written independently; a total of 9 books, 5 of which were edited book studies contributed by different academicians as chapter authors, were examined. In the study, in which the document analysis method was used as a method, the books that will be the subject of the examination were determined by the data obtained from the face-to-face interviews with the academicians who teach in the field of religious education and the short survey conducted over the googleforms for the religious education academicians. In this direction, first of all, the determined books were first reviewed (superficial review), then read (detailed review) and finally comments were made on the data obtained. The themes that were taken as basis while examining the books were determined by considering the titles determined by the Board of Education at the point of evaluation of the textbooks. In this context, the books in question include content (topics covered, including questions and anecdotes in the text, informing the reader of the target, including reading passages and activities, including preparation and evaluation questions, including traditional works in the bibliography), language features and Examined in terms of spelling rules and visual order. At the end of the research, it was concluded that religious education textbooks contributed to the scientificization of religious education, provided students and academicians with a tidy teaching material related to the field, and were generally successful studies in terms of content, language-expression and stylistic features.
