Gazetecilik alanı son yıllarda ortaya çıkan yeni iletişim teknolojilerinin etkisiyle kökten bir değişime uğramıştır. Bu bağlamda iletişimin dijitalleşmesi haber üretim pratikleri ve gazetecilerin mevcut iş yapış şekillerini dönüştürmeye başlamıştır. Habercilik endüstrisindeki değişimler nedeniyle de günümüz gazetecilerinin sahip olması gereken mesleki yeterlilikler ve gazetecilik eğitiminin niteliği sorgulanmaya başlanmıştır. Özetle gazetecilik sektörünün haberleşme teknolojilerindeki gelişmelere bağlı olarak sürekli daha sofistike, multidisipliner ve melez bir yapıya doğru evrilmesi muhabirlerin birtakım yeni beceriler kazanmasını zorunlu kılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, gazetecilik eğitiminin habercilik endüstrisindeki dijitalleşme akımına nasıl adapte olabileceği ve muhabirlerin mesleki becerilerinin nasıl geliştirilebileceği tartışılmıştır. Ayrıca bu araştırmada geleneksel gazeteciliğin sürdürülebilir ekonomik modelinin önemli oranda zayıfladığı ve bu yüzden de dijital çağ gazetecilerinin teknoloji tabanlı yeni habercilik pratiklerine hızlı uyum sağlayabilecekleri yeni beceriler kazanmasın bir tercih olmaktan öte bir gereklilik olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.
The field of journalism has undergone a radical change with the effect of new communication technologies emerging in recent years. In this context, the digitalization of communication has begun to transform news production practices and the current way of doing business of journalists. Moreover, developments in the journalism sector have led to questioning the quality of journalism education. For this reason, the journalism sector is constantly transforming into a more sophisticated, multidisciplinary, and hybrid structure depending on the developments in communication technologies. This situation requires reporters to acquire some new skills. This study focuses on how journalism education can adapt to the digitization trend in the journalism industry. In this report also it was discussed how reporters could improve their professional skills. This study concluded that the sustainable economic model of traditional journalism had weakened significantly. Therefore, digital age journalists must acquire new skills to adapt to technology-based journalism practices.
