Abstract:

CALIFORNIA MASTITIS TEST (CMT) for the diagnosis of subclinical Mastitis in kidneys
2007
Author:
Abstract:

This study was carried out with the aim of demonstrating the availability of CMT in the diagnosis of subclinical mastitis in hair cows in Konya and isolating the bacteria that cause subclinical mastitis. In the study, a total of 508 hair cows found in 5 cows were studied. The CMT test was carried out with a sample of milk from 935 cows' breasts. Microbiological examination was carried out in samples of milk that gave CMT positive results and in 50 samples of milk that gave CMT negative results for the purpose of control. According to the CMT results, 11.7 percent of goats and 7.9 percent of mammals had subclinical mastitis detected. The infection was bilateral at 32.2 percent, unilateral at 67.8 percent, infection at 43.6 percent on the right ball and 56.4 percent on the left ball. There was no statistical difference in the number of cases identified in the right and left balls (P > 0. In 79.5 percent of samples with CMT positive results, bacterial reproduction occurred, while in 20.5 percent no factor was isolated. In 14% of samples with CMT negative results, bacterial reproduction occurred, while in 86% no factor was isolated. No statistical differences were observed in the bacteriological verification of samples identified positively and negatively in the subclinical mastitis direction (P > 0,05), and in the milk samples with CMT positive result, Coagulase negative Staphylococcus {KNS} was identified as the most common pathogen at 69.3 % p reva la tıs. Staphylococcus aureus is 17.7%. The corynebacterium spp. (4.8%) and Streptococcus spp. (%3.2), Escherichia coli (%3.2) and Maya (%t.6) were other pathogens isolated. As a result, when the 0 and +1 scores in goats are considered negative, and the +2 and +3 scores are considered positive, CMT has been determined to detect high levels of infected and non-infected mammals subclinically. Therefore, CMT can be preferred in the diagnosis of subclinical mastitis in goats due to its ease of use, rapid results and low cost.
