Erkek egemen toplumlarda ve kültürlerde kadınların tarihi incelenmek istendiğinde kadınlara ait sosyal, ekonomik ve aile hayatına dair bilgilerin çok az kaydedildiği görülmektedir. Bu durum kadınların gerek toplum, gerekse aile içindeki yerlerinin tam olarak tespit edilmesinde kısıtlayıcı bir role sahiptir. Osmanlı’nın özellikle erken dönemlerinde çokça karşılaşılan bu sıkıntı 19. yüzyılın sonlarına doğru, alan araştırma kaynaklarının çoğalmasına bağlı olarak azaldığından kadınların hayatına dair biraz daha fazla veriye ulaşılabilir. Ancak bu yüzyıl sonrasında da okur-yazarlık oranı düşük olan kadınların arkalarında hatıratlar bırak(a)mamaları, arşiv belgesi ve şer’iyye sicili gibi resmi devlet belgelerine kaydedilen bilgilerde kimi zaman mahremiyet, kimi zaman ise asıl soruna odaklanıp sonuca hemen varmak için şablon, kısa ve öz ifadeler kullanılması kadınlarla ilgili merak edilen soruların cevaplarına ulaşılmasını güçleştirmektedir. Bunlara ek olarak belirli bir yer üzerine çalışma yapılıyor ve bu yer ana kent niteliği taşımıyorsa bilgi bulmak daha da zorlaşmaktadır. Bu koşullar altında çalışmada Osmanlı’nın son döneminde Alanya’da kadınların eğitimi, çalışma, mülkiyet tasarruf hakları, evlenme-boşanmada yaşadıkları sorunlar, karıştıkları asayiş olayları (darp, gasp, tecavüz), babasız ve kocasız kalan kadınların geçim yolu bulma çabası gibi konular ele alınmaktadır. Böylece Osmanlı toplumunda hem Batı’da bir sahil kazası olan Alanya’da yaşamış kadınların hayatlarının nasıl olduğu, hem de Doğu’daki kadınlarla benzer yahut farklı tecrübeler yaşayıp yaşamadıkları ortaya konulmaya çalışılmaktadır. Cevap aranan temel sorular şunlardır: Osmanlı’nın Batı’sı ile Doğu’sundaki kadınların yaşamı birbirinden farklı mıydı? Yoksa kadınların yazgısı yaşanılan bölge, yer neresi olursa olsun fark etmiyor muydu? Çalışmanın kadın tarihinin yanı sıra belirli bir bölge kadınının yaşamından kesitler sunması bakımından da alan çalışmalarına katkı sağlayacağı kanaatindeyiz.
When the history of women is asked to be studied in men’s dominant societies and cultures, it is apparent that very little information about women’s social, economic and family life is recorded. This situation has a restrictive role in the precise identification of women, whether in society or in the family. This trouble, especially in the early periods of the Ottoman, was widely encountered by the end of the 19th century, as it decreased due to the multiplication of field research resources, a little more data about the lives of women can be reached. But after this century, women with a low reading-writing rate have not left reminders behind them, the information recorded in official state documents such as archive documents and sher's records sometimes privacy, and sometimes the main issue focuses on and to get the conclusion immediately the use of templates, short and self-expression makes it difficult for women to reach the answers to questions concerned about them. In addition, the work is done on a particular place and if this place does not carry the main city character, it is even more difficult to find information. Under these circumstances, the study in the last period of Ottoman in Alanya addresses issues such as women’s education, work, property savings rights, the problems they experience in marriage-divorce, the assyrial events they interfere with (drop, gaps, rape), the efforts of the women without father and without marriage to find a way of survival. Thus, the Ottoman society is trying to figure out how women who lived in Alanya, a coastal accident in the West, and how they lived similar or different experiences with women in the East. The main questions to be answered are: were the lives of the Ottoman women in the West and the East different? Or does the women’s love not matter where the land is? We believe that the study will contribute to the work of the field in terms of the history of the woman as well as the presentation of cuts from the life of a particular region of the woman.
When it is desired to examine the history of women in male-dominated societie sand cultures, it is seen that very little information about women's social, economic and family life is recorded. This situation creates problems in determining the exact place of women both in society and in the family. As this problem, which was encountered frequently especially in the early periods of the Ottoman Empire, decreased slightly towards the end of the 19 th century, a little more data can be reached on the lives of women. However, the fact that women with a low literacy rate did/could not leave memories behind even after this century, and that the information recorded in official state documents such as archival document sands haria registers is some times confidential, and some times using the plates, shortand concise statements in order to focus on the real problem and come to a conclusion immediately makes it difficult to reach the answers to the questions asked about women. In addition to these, if there is a study on a specific place and if this place is not a main city, it become seven more difficult to find information. Under these conditions, the study examines the topics regarding women in Alanya during the last period of the Ottoman such as the ireducation, employment and property rights, the problems they experienced in marriage-divorce, the public order incidents they were involved in (battery, extortion, rape), and the struggle of women who were left without father and husband tofind a livelihood. In this manner, it is tried to reveal both the lives of women who lived in Alanya, a coast altown in the West, and whether they had similar ordifferent experiences with women in the East in Ottoman society. The basic questions to be answered are as follows: Were the lives of women in the West and women in the East of the Ottoman Empire different from each other? Or did the fate of women not differ, regardless of there gionor place they lived in? The study is important in terms of presenting sections from the life of a certain region woman as well as the history of women.
