Pontus Meselesi, Milli Mücadele yıllarında hep gündemde kalmıştır Pontusçu Rum çeteleri, Samsun ve çevresindeki faaliyetlerini 1922 yılı sonlarına kadar sürdürmüşlerdir. Türkiye Büyük Millet Meclisi (TBMM) Hükümeti, Pontus isyanını bastırmak üzere bazı tedbirler almıştır. 1920 yılı sonlarında kurulan Merkez Ordusu, 1921 yılında Pontusçu çetelere karşı önemli faaliyetlerde bulunmuşsa da kesin bir sonuca varılamamıştır. Fethi (Okyar) Bey’in Dâhiliye Vekilliği (10 Ekim 1921-4 Ekim 1922) döneminde de bu mücadele sürdürülmüştür. Fethi Bey, 1922 yılı baharında Pontusçulara karşı düzenlenecek olan harekâtı yakından takip etmek üzere, 28 Ocak-25 Mart 1922 tarihleri arasında Karadeniz gezisini gerçekleştirmiştir. Bu gezi sırasında Samsun dışında bir ara Trabzon, Giresun ve Ordu’yu da ziyaret etmiştir. Makalede, Fethi Bey’in Karadeniz gezisi çerçevesinde Pontusçu çetelere karşı başlatılan mücadeleye yer verilecektir.
The Pontus issue was always on the agenda in the years of the National Struggle and the Pontus Rom gangs continued their activities in Samsun and its surroundings until the end of 1922. The Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) government has taken some measures to suppress the Pontus rebellion. The Central Army, which was founded in the late 1920s, had taken significant activities against the Pontusci gangs in 1921, but a certain conclusion was not reached. Fethi (Okyar) Mr. Dâhiliye Vekilliet (10 October 1921 – 4 October 1922) also continued this struggle. Fethi Mr. made a visit to the Black Sea between 28 January and 25 March 1922 to closely follow the movement against the Pontuscians in the spring of 1922. During this trip, he visited Trabzon, Giresun and the Army outside of Samsun. The article will include the struggle started against the Pontuscu gangs in the framework of Mr. Fethi's Black Sea Journey.
