Health care facilities are defined as complex structures because of their high technology use, a high number of factors in the production process, and employment of specialists with different characteristics in differen t quantities. This complex organizational structure, when necessary corrections are not made, can lead to vital errors and deficiencies that cannot be corrected and which also lead to insecurity. The causes of errors and accidents that occur in hospitals a re individual and system-related causes, including knowledge deficit, incorrect procedures, negligence, and carelessness. Hospitals are work environments that carry a significant risk to employees because, while the health care system aims to protect and improve the health outcomes of individuals, the combination of processes related to care, the technology that is used, and the complex human factors creates the risk for mistakes and unwanted incidents to occur. Some of the most common accidents that occur in hospitals are nurses' needle stick injuries, accidents related to medication errors, back injuries from lifting patients and objects, patient injuries from slipping and falling, hand injuries from broken and cracked objects, collisions and bruises, fires, burns from hot water, and infections from inappropriate disposal of wastes. Nursing, which comprise the largest group in the health workforce, have a risky profession in which they face a wide variety o f h ea lt h a nd sa f et y d a ng ers. I n a d equ a t e wo r kvi r o n mt , i na d equ a te instruments and inadequate personnel are factors which increase the risk to nurses. As for the concept of nurse safety covers to prevent the potential risks like the illness of occupation, work accident which cause wounds in the working environment.
