Tıp Öğrencilerinin Üreme Sağlığı ve Aile Planlaması Konusundaki Bilgi Düzeyinin Değerlendirilmesi

 Amaç: Bu çalışmada 2. ve 5. sınıf tıp öğrencilerinin üreme sağlığı ve aile planlaması konusundaki bilgi düzeyini değerlendirmek amaçlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntemler: İstanbul’da bir tıp fakültesinin tüm ikinci sınıf öğrencilerinin 121’ine (%81,7), tüm beşinci sınıf öğrencilerinin 88’ine (%79,2) olmak üzere, araştırma kapsamında toplam 209 öğrenciye ulaşılmıştır. Veriler, sosyodemografik özellikleri, üreme sağlığı ve aile planlaması ko­nusundaki bilgi ve tutumları değerlendirmeye yönelik 17 sorudan oluşan bir anket formu aracı­lığıyla toplanmıştır. Bulgular: Öğrencilere aile planlamasının tanımı sorulmuş ve 2. sınıf öğrencilerinin 107’sinden (%88,4), 5. sınıf öğrencilerinin ise 67’sinden (%76,1) “ailenin bakabileceği ve yetiştirebileceği ka­dar çocuk sahibi olmak” yanıtı alınmıştır (p<0,05). Öğrencilerden aile planlaması hakkındaki bilgi durumlarını kendilerinin değerlendirmesi istenmiş, ikinci sınıfların 51’i (%42,1), beşinci sınıfların 64’ü (%72,2) aile planlaması yöntemleri hakkında yeterli bilgiye sahip olduğunu söylemiştir. Her iki sınıfta da kondom 185 (%88,5) en çok, spermisitler ise 89 (%42,6) en az bilinen aile planlaması yöntemi idi. En az bilinen cinsel yolla bulaşan enfeksiyon 106 öğrenci (%50,7) ile Trikomonas vaginalis enfeksiyonu, en çok bilinen ise 207 öğrenci (%99) ile HIV enfeksiyonuydu. Öğrencilere, “Lisede yeterli düzeyde cinsel sağlık eğitimi aldınız mı?” sorusu da sorulmuş, ikinci sınıfların 102’si (%84,3), beşinci sınıfların ise 78’i (%88,6) “Hayır” cevabı vermiştir. Tartışma ve Sonuç: Tıp fakültesi 2. ve 5. sınıf öğrencilerinin aile planlaması yöntemleri, cinsel yolla bulaşan hastalıklar, acil kontrasepsiyon ve acil kontraseptif yöntemler hakkındaki bilgi dü­zeylerinin farklı olduğu saptanmıştır.

Purpose: This study aims to evaluate the level of knowledge of second and fifth grade medical students in the field of reproductive health and family planning. Tools and Methods: A total of 121 of all second-class students of a medical faculty in Istanbul (81.7%) and 88 of all fifth-class students (79.2%) were reached in the research scope, with a total of 209 students. The data was collected through a survey form consisting of 17 questions to assess the socio-demographic characteristics, reproductive health and knowledge and attitudes in family planning. Results: Students were asked about the definition of family planning and 107 of 2nd grade students (88.4%) and 67 of 5th grade students (76.1%) were asked to "have a child that the family can take care of and raise" (p<0,05). Students were asked to evaluate their knowledge status on family planning, 51 of the second class (42.1%), 64 of the fifth class (72.2%) said they had sufficient knowledge about family planning methods. In both classes, condoms were 185 (88,5%) much and spermits 89 (42.6) less known family planning method. The least known sexually transmitted infection was 106 students (50,7%) with Trikomonas vaginalis infection, and 207 students (99%) with HIV infection. To students, "Do you get a sufficient level of sexual health education in high school?" The question was also asked, 102 of the second class (84.3%), and 78 of the fifth class (88.6%) answered “No”. Discussions and Results: Faculty of Medicine 2 and 5. It has been found that class students have different levels of knowledge about family planning methods, sexually transmitted diseases, emergency contraception and emergency contraceptive methods.

Condom as mentioned by 185 students (88.5%) was the best known method in both classes and spermicides the least (n=89, 42.6%). The least known sexually transmitted infection was Trichomonas vaginalis infection (n=106, 50.7%) and the best known was HIV infection (n=207, 99%). The students were also asked “Did you receive an adequate sexual health education in high school?”, and 102 (84.3%) of the 2nd graders and 78 (88.6%) of the 5th graders answered “No”. Discussion and Conclusion: We found that levels of knowledge about family planning meth­ods, sexually transmitted diseases, and emergency contraception and emergency contracep­tive methods differed among the surveyed 2nd and 5th grade medical students
