Bu araştırmada, ortaokul öğrencilerine yönelik geçerli ve güvenilir bir deprem okuryazarlığı ölçeğinin geliştirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma nicel araştırma yöntemi esas alınarak yürütülmüştür. Çalışma amacı doğrultusunda farklı sınıf seviyelerinde yer alan 510 ortaokul öğrencisi örneklem grup olarak belirlenmiştir. Geliştirilmesi planlanan ölçeğin taslak formuna ait hazırlanan maddelere yönelik uzman görüşleri alınmış, bazı maddeler çıkartılmış, dil ve anlatım açısından kontrolleri sağlanmıştır. Son hali verilen 60 maddeden oluşan ölçek formunun, pilot uygulaması sonrasında esas uygulaması gerçekleştirilmiştir. Uygulama sonrasında katılımcılardan elde edilen veriler SPSS ve LISREL programları aracılığıyla değerlendirilmiştir. Veriler açımlayıcı faktör analizi ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizlerine tabi tutulmuş, Cronbach alpha iç tutarlılık katsayı hesaplanmış, faktörlerin korelasyon değerleri ortaya konulmuştur. Analiz sonuçları doğrultusunda, ölçeğin 3 faktörlü yapıda olduğu doğrulanarak, uyum indekslerinin kabul edilebilir ve mükemmel düzeyde uyum gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir. Cronbach alpha iç tutarlık katsayı değeri ise 0.896 olarak belirlenmiştir. Çalışma kapsamında 3 faktörlü 26 maddeden oluşan 5’li likert tipte “Deprem Okuryazarlığı Ölçeği” ortaya konulmuştur. Geliştirilen ölçeğin ortaokul öğrencilerine uygun geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçek olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
In this study, it was aimed to develop a valid and reliable earthquake literacy scale for secondary school students. The study was carried out based on the quantitative research method. For the purpose of the study, 510 secondary school students at different grade levels were determined as the sample group. Expert opinions were received on the items prepared for the draft form of the scale planned to be developed, some items were removed, and language and expression controls were provided. After the pilot application, the main application of the scale form consisting of 60 items, which was finalized, was carried out. After the application, the data obtained from the participants were evaluated through SPSS and LISREL programs. The data were subjected to exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis, the Cronbach alpha internal consistency coefficient was calculated, and the correlation values of the factors were revealed. In line with the results of the analysis, it was confirmed that the scale had a 3-factor structure, and it was determined that the fit indices showed an acceptable and perfect level of fit. The Cronbach alpha internal consistency coefficient value was determined as 0.896. Within the scope of the study, a 5-point Likert-type "Earthquake Literacy Scale" consisting of 26 items with 3 factors was introduced. It has been determined that the developed scale is a valid and reliable scale suitable for secondary school students.
