Abstract:

The aim of this study is to examine the experiences of the students participating in the Erasmus+ student exchange program and their views on the wisdom character gains within the scope of this mobility. In the research, phenomenological design was used. Ten students who studied at a state science high school in the 2021-2022 academic year went to Greece within the scope of the Erasmus+ student exchange program and were selected by the criterion sample method. The opinions of the participants were obtained through semi-structured interview form. After obtaining the necessary permissions for the study, the participants were informed about the study. Interviews were held at the appropriate time for the students. Then, the data were analyzed by comparative analysis method. As a result of the research, it was seen that the participants reached the gains related to the character of wisdom within the scope of the program. As a result, students participating in the Erasmus+ student exchange program; It has been seen that they have gained important gains in terms of the development of original thinking, open-mindedness, curiosity, self-expression skills and their interest in learning. As a result, it is seen that the students participating in the mobility stated that they gained many skills such as international perspective, critical thinking skills, the ability to tolerate and adapt to differences, and project-based collaborative learning skills. Research findings reveal important results in terms of being a source for field studies and for the Erasmus+ student exchange program to be more qualified. The research findings were discussed in the light of the findings in the literature and suggestions were made to make the program more efficient.
