Abstract:

Purpose: This study aims to determine the Industry 4.0 maturity levels of manufacturing companies operating in Turkey. Methodology: A scale which was developed in the perspective of developing countries, was used to determine the Industry 4.0 maturity level of manufacturing enterprises. The sample of the research consists of senior and operational managers, engineers and technical experts of large-scale manufacturing companies that are on the ISO 500/1000 list and apply Industry 4.0 tools and processes. The data which collected through the questionnaire, was evaluated through descriptive statistics. Findings: The results of the research show that, in general, businesses are about to complete the "experienced" level in terms of Industry 4.0 maturity level (3.92/5.00). However, it has been concluded that the organizational aspects of the enterprises are at a good level and the technological (operational) aspects are areas that need improvement. Originality: There are very few studies evaluating the maturity level of Industry 4.0 from the perspective of developing countries. This study also contributes to the literature by dealing with the subject in a wide participation framework and comprehensive manner.
