By evaluating the limited information and archaeological data obtained from written documents in this study, we tried to identify the funeral rituals and the traditions of the assyrian faith. According to the beliefs of the Mezopotamian communities, the deceased person was still living in another world called the "Land of the Dead". Whoever dies for his belief in the Hereafter is buried with his personal things. The funeral rituals were of great importance for the calming of the soul of the dead and the transition to the land of the dead. A magnificent funeral ceremony and appropriate presentations were to be made to comfort the soul of the dead. The person who died in the Asur faith lived in the soul form in the land of the dead, and the souls were still required to be given food and beverage as part of the family. According to this thought, the dead are often buried in the ground of the houses. The ancient believed the tombs as a door opened to the land of the dead.
