Abstract:

20. The century has been a process in which art practices are changing, interconnected, open to criticism and dialecticism, and in which radical changes occur. During this process, the statue art has also made great changes in the basic codes, and the statue has expanded its meaning by gathering many innovative approaches to form, technique, material and application. By the middle of the 20th century, Minimalism emerged as a radical stream in the U.S. art center in New York. At the same time, in the state of California, which is the western side of the country, statues similar to minimalist works have begun to be constructed, but with different innovations. The aim of this study, created by the visual scan model, is to position the "Light and Space Art Movement" that emerged on the western side of the United States in the 1960s within the art of the 20th century and to study the methods of application with the innovative approach it contributed to the sculpture art; in the context of material, technical and form. The aim of this artistic movement in the process of creation is to characterize the nature of their efforts, focusing on the innovative materials and techniques adopted by the artists, and to make it clear how the statue has an impact on the process of transformation.
