Günümüzde dünyanın hemen her yerinde denizcilikle ilgili yapılan faaliyette veya denizcilikle alakalı olan sivil ve askeri yapılanmalarda şüphesiz en çok kullanılan görsel çapadır. Çapa, gemilerin limanda veya deniz üzerinde sabit kalması için atılan ağır bir demir olup, Osmanlı döneminde lenger olarak adlandırılmıştır. Lenger, Osmanlı donanmasında mevcut olan her tür ve ebattaki geminin inşasında kullanılan onlarca malzemeden bir tanesi olup, önem itibariyle kullanılan diğer malzemeler içerisinde müstesna bir yere sahiptir. Bu sebeptendir ki donanmaya ait gemilerin inşa faaliyetlerine başlanılmasıyla birlikte bu malzemenin üretimi ve temini için devlet yöneticileri büyük çaba göstermiştir. Bu çalışmada, Osmanlı Devleti’nde denizcilik konusuna kısa bir giriş yapıldıktan sonra, Osmanlı donanmasında lenger ihtiyacını belirleyen temel unsurları ve üretim aşamasına giden sürecin nasıl işlediği sorularına genel hatlarıyla cevap aranmıştır. Bu noktada, ilk olarak çalışma dönemimiz içerisinde, Osmanlı Devleti’nin en önemli lenger üretim merkezi konumunda olan İstanbul’daki Hasköy lengerhanesinin yenilenmesi ve tesisin genişletilmesi süreci ana hatlarıyla gösterilmiştir.
Today, it is undoubtedly the most widely used visual anchor in maritime-related activities or maritime-related civilian organizations. The anchor is a heavy iron thrown into the sea for the ships to stable, was named lenger in Ottoman period. Lenger is one of the dozens of materials used in the construction of every type and size of the ship available in the Ottoman navy and has an exceptional place among other materials used in importance. For this reason, with the start of the construction activities of the navy's ships, state managers made great efforts to manufacture and supply this material. In this study, maritime in the Ottoman Empire a brief introduction to the topic, the Ottoman navy and basic elements that determine the need to lenger in production stage we searched for a general answer to the question of how the process works. At this point, first throughout the study period, the most important which is the production center of the Ottoman Empire in İstanbul Hasköy with main lines of the restructuring of the suppression of is shown.
