Turkey has a high potential for solar energy in its region where cooling is a serious need for ventilating purposesin many residences. Also, cooling is required for industrial and commercial purposes in other regions. Using the solar energyin cooling systems reduces the cost of energy and greenhouse gases emission. So, solar assisted absorption cooling systems have become considerablycharming in nowadays. In this study, energy and exergy analysis on a solar assisted single effect absorption cooling system is carried out according to first and second lawsof thermodynamics. The temperature, pressure and mass flow rate of the fluids used in the system aretaken from the literature. Working fluid in the system is used (chosen) as LiBr/H2O. Heat transfer rates at each component and the coefficient of performance (COP) of the system are computed. Also, the physical and chemical exergy of eachstream in the system are determined. And exergy analysis of the system is performed. The energy and exergy analysis of the system components isundertaken by using the EES program. The results obtained are compared with other studies. At the end of the study COP is computed as 74.43%. The exergy analysis results show that the highest exergy destruction and exergy lossoccursat evaporator assembly. So, evaporator assembly has the minimum exergetic efficiency as 23.88%. The maximum exergetic efficiency exists in the generator as 74.39%. Exergetic efficiency of the overall system is obtained as 16.75%.<
