Abstract:

The subject of crime is a phenomenon as old as human history. Platon put forward that crime was a kind of spiritual disease in his book entitled as Laws in ancient times. Aristotle linked the crime to poverty and revolutions in society. Crime has occurred with different forms in different times and places for centuries. Civilization, along with developments in science and technology and the criminality also change its own dimension. However, the most notable issue of the criminality recently is juvenile delinquency. As a consequence of immigration and rapid urbanization, the number of juveniles pushed to crime has increased in particularly developed and developing societies. Being used of "Child and crime" concepts in the same sentence indicates a serious social problem. The factors which drive the children who have not complete their personality development and identity yet are their social environment in which the child is constantly communicating. A child is an individual that has neither good nor bad character. His/her personality is shaped by experience and education in time. This definition shows that childhood develops in the light of the psychological and sociological experiences. Therefore, the sociological evaluation of the factors which drive the child to crime is very significant. This study is a review evaluating child delinquency, which is a social problem, using sociological crime theories.
