Abstract:

In this study, the teachers’ opinions on the effectiveness of the new Primary Education DKAB Teaching Progra-m implemented in the 2006-2007 educational year are evaluated.  The data obtained from interviews with 20 teachers in Istanbul were analyzed by applying quality research methods. Research findings are presented by teachers in general in the framework of program perception and in-service training, based approaches/s, objectives and achievements, content, learning teaching process and measurement evaluation dimensions. According to the data obtained from the study, teachers are positive to the new Primary Education DKAB Teaching Program in general, but they are also pointing to some problems in the application within the different dimensions of the program. From the founded approaches the structuration is applicable in the DKAB courses and the question is not able to reveal a satisfactory view of the program in this regard, the basic claim of the intellectual approach is not fully realized, the objectives and achievements are generally sufficient although a partial success in practice can be achieved, the content of the students' level, interests and needs are problematic and the unfavorable units and subjects are a general satisfaction-intention of the learning process while the program remains insufficient in particular in terms of the effectiveness and materials, the alternative measurement methods and techniques in the new program are not considered to be more important in the application.
