Objectives: The aim of this study was to detect the frequency of tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy in children according to their socioeconomic status. Materials and Methods: Data was collected by a questionnaire distributed to two schools containing students belong to different socioeconomic levels. The age and gender of the children, whether tonsillectomy or adenoidectomy were performed or not, socioeconomic and educational status of the parents were questioned. Data was compared statistically by Chi-square test. Results: Of the 775 children, 4.9% were performed tonsillectomy, 2.7% adenoidectomy and 2.1% were both of them.
