Abstract:

This study was carried out with the aim of evaluating the postgraduate theses prepared in Turkey in the field of leisure and recreation in the framework of bibliometric characteristics. In the framework of the research, the sub-graduate theses published in Turkey between 1987-2019 years have been studied. The data was obtained from the National Thesis Center of the Higher Education Council (YÖKTEZ) databases on 24-25.10.2019. The theses are scaned with the keywords "recreation, leisure and leisure time" and included 536 postgraduate theses that are accessible to study. The theses included in the research were evaluated in the framework of the "year in which the thesis was published, the type of the thesis, the keywords, the branch of anatomy, the applied research method, the data analysis technique, the subdimensions and the related concepts" parameters. In the analysis of the data on the subject of the study, the percentage and frequency distribution were studied; bibliometric analyses were used. The analysis found that the number of postgraduate theses on recreation and leisure in the fields of body education and sports sciences, recreation, landscape architecture and tourism anatomy was higher than the number of postgraduate theses on recreation and leisure in other fields of anatomy. Graduate theses have been observed to concentrate on recreational activities and recreational activities in the lower dimension. It has also been concluded that the concepts of recreation and leisure time are often studied by associating them with the concepts of tourism, sport and landscape.
