Science fiction cinema maintains its existence as a genre that questions the concepts of technology and science in the context of values related to humanity and society. As it is observed in general of genre films, science fiction cinema has included the change in the society and the world in which it is produced in the periods of social and political transformations in the history of cinema.Themes such as scientific innovations, cloning, artificial intelligence, human curiosity, finding a new living space in space or creating a new world are among the most obvious themes of science fiction cinema. The concepts of memory and time are used in the context of cinematographic principles to realize themes such as “identity” and “being human” in science fiction films. In this study, it is assumed that the construction of identity in science fiction cinema can be realized by using the concepts of memory and time. The sample movies were evaluated with textual analysis method and the conceptual framework of the study was established with literature scanning technique. As a result of the study, it was concluded that the concepts of memory and time were used to create the identity phenomenon in science fiction films.
