Man is a creature that believes in his creation. The most important place in which this act of belief shows itself is religious beliefs. From the early periods of human history, the man who assigned a supernatural power to the events he saw in nature and felt disappointed in his face, thought that this power was under the control of a supreme authority. Through this thought, human communities, which form a very divine system of faith, have indexed the work of the universe to the decisions and preferences of this family by imagining the world of the gods as a family. This situation has also revealed the idea that man’s charity and public order, whether in the eril or female forms, are determined by a divine authority. The management and social order of human communities, which had an organized life along with the first villages that emerged in the ancient Mesopotamia geography, took place within the framework of religious systems. With the transformation of the first villages into cities, religious systems, which have become more institutional, have, together with the Sumer City States, a religious bureaucracy and have ruled all areas of life, from social life to politics, from spiritual world to economy. The Sumerians, who have further moved their religious worlds with mythological stories, have succeeded in transmitting their religious understanding and the perception of God to the subsequent periods with the beginning of the tradition of recording by inventing the writing. This translation is the main reason for Sumer traces to be seen in the thousands of years of cultural accumulation of the ancient Mesopotamia geography. In this study, the sumer society's religious understanding and the perception of God will be discussed in a questioning way by the drawings made from written sources and the information obtained from modern literature.
