Abstract:

The goal of the Professional Higher Schools is to train the intermediate technical elements that the industry really needs. These schools provide students with theoretical knowledge and professional knowledge and skills. Students are also aware of the various situations they will encounter in the work life (work health, work safety, occupational diseases, etc.). In this study, it is aimed at determining the expectations of students from the vocational college in the field of work health and safety (ISG) and the ISG awareness they have with the training they receive. For this purpose, a survey study consisting of 20 questions to a total of 200 students, including 40 students from each of the Workers' Health and Safety, Metallurgy, Resource Technology, Machinery Painting and Construction and Quality Control Programs at the Düzce University of Gümüşova Professional High School, was implemented and evaluated according to the results obtained. According to the results obtained, the conclusion was that the necessary arrangements and updates at the curriculum level in the Professional High School that trains inter-stage technical elements will be useful for the students to be thrown into the business life.
