İktisat literatüründe genel olarak bir ülkenin ekonomik büyümesinde dış ticaretin önemli bir yer tuttuğu yönünde bir yaklaşım söz konusudur. Özellikle ülkenin ihracatının artması toplam çıktı miktarında da bir artış sağlayacağı görüşü, ampirik literatürde de önemli bir yere sahiptir. Burada önemli olan ihracatın ekonomik büyüme üzerinde nasıl bir geçiş mekanizmasıyla etki sağlayacağıdır. İhracat gelirlerinde istikrar sağlamanın önemli yollarından biri ihracat çeşitlendirmesini sağlamaktır. Bu çalışmada 1995-2019 dönemine ait Türkiye ekonomisi verileri kullanılarak ihracat çeşitlendirmesinin ekonomik büyüme üzerine etkileri incelenmiştir. Modelde, ekonomik büyümeyi ifade etmesi için sabit fiyatlarla kişi başı gayrisafi yurtiçi hâsıla değişkeni bağımlı değişken olarak kullanılmıştır. Açıklayıcı değişkenler ise sermayeye yapılan net ilaveler, işgücüne katılım oranı ve Birleşmiş Milletler Ticaret ve Kalkınma Konferansı tarafından hesaplanan ihracatta ürün çeşitlendirmesi endeksi olarak modele dâhil edilmiştir. Modele dahil edilen değişkenlerin durağanlık analizleri için ADF ve PP birim kök testleri, değişkenler arasındaki eşbütünleşme ilişkisinin tespiti için ise ARDL sınır testi yaklaşımı kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen ampirik bulgulara göre ihracatta ürün çeşitliliği ekonomik büyüme üzerinde olumlu etkilere sahiptir.

There is a general opinion in the economic literature that foreign trade has an important place in economic growth. Especially, the view of increase in the export will provide an increase in the total output has an important place in the empirical literature. In this situation the important thing is how export will provide economic growth. One of the important way to stabilize export revenues is to ensure export diversification. In this study, the effects of export diversification on economic growth were investigated by using the data of the Turkish economy fort he period 1995-2019. In the model, gross domestic product per capita constant prices ise used as dependent variable to express economic growth. Independent variables are included in the model as net flows on capital, labor force participation rate and product diversification index in export calculated by United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. ADF and PP unit root tests were used for stationarity analysis of the varibles included in the model, and the ARDL bounds test was used to determine the cointegration relationship between variables. According to the empirical findings, product diversity in exports has positive effects on economic growth.
