Abstract:

Significant discussions were made with the identities of the Orthodox Gagauz, the Turks living within the borders of Bulgaria and Romania. In the process of increasing the importance of the nation-state components in the 1930s, there was considerable variation in these collective approaches due to the religious identities of the Republican staff. While Hamdullah Suphi thought that this society, which is in a different religion apart from Muslims, would constitute an important dynamism for the formation of secular national identity, the founding members of the Republic had seen the Gagauz except these national identity belonging to different reasons Since the founding elements of the Republic approached the Gagauz as a people representing only the Balkans in the "Turkicity Motif", they were not warm to the masses to migrate to Turkey.
