Eğitim, ırk, dil, din, cinsiyet ayrımı yapılmaksızın toplumun her kesimine sunulan bir kamu hizmetidir. Kadın ve erkeklerin, eğitime erişimde sahip olmaları gereken eşitlik kadar birlikte eğitim almaları da bireysel ve toplumsal gelişim açısından oldukça önemlidir. Bu bağlamda eğitimin her kademesinde karma eğitim modelinin benimsenmesi bu bireysel ve toplumsal gelişim açısından oldukça önemlidir. Ancak tarihsel süreçte tek cinsiyete dayalı eğitim uygulamaları da oldukça yaygındır. Eğitimin her kademesinde görülen tek cinsiyete dayalı eğitimin yükseköğretim kademesinde en bilinen örneklerinden biri kadın üniversiteleridir. Türkiye’de de 11. Kalkınma Planı’nda Japonya örneği incelenerek kadın üniversitelerinin kurulmasına yönelik düzenleme yer almıştır. Bu eksende bu çalışma sadece kadın öğrencilerin eğitim alabildikleri bu yükseköğretim modelinin eğitimde cinsiyet eşitliği ilkesini nasıl etkilediğini sorunsallaştırmakta ve buna yönelik olarak 11. Kalkınma Planında hedeflenen eğitim politikasını feminist yöntem aracılığıyla analiz etmektedir. Bu bilgiler ekseninde çalışmada, kadın üniversiteleri gibi tek cinsiyete dayalı olan ve sadece kadınların eğitim alabildiği eğitim kurumlarının eğitimde toplumsal cinsiyet eşitsizliklerinin yeniden üretimine neden olabileceği gösterilmeye çalışılmaktadır.
Education, race, language, religion, gender is a public service offered to every part of society without any discrimination. It is also very important that women and men receive education together as equal as they should have access to education for individual and social development. In this context, the adoption of the karma education model in every stage of education is very important in terms of this individual and social development. However, in the historical process, single-gender educational practices are also quite common. One of the most well-known examples of single-gender-based education in higher education is women’s universities in every stage of education. 11 in Turkey. In the Development Plan, the example of Japan was studied and arranged for the establishment of women’s universities. In this axis, this study questiones how this model of higher education that only women students can receive education affects the principle of gender equality in education and in this direction 11. It analyses the educational policy targeted in the Development Plan through the feminist method. The study in this information axis tries to show that single-gender educational institutions, such as women’s universities and only women can get education, can lead to the re-production of social gender inequalities in education.
