Abstract:

The Covid-19 pandemic has affected the whole world and has significantly affected both daily life and educational activities. In this process, which proceeds under difficult conditions, it has been decided to continue education with distance education in order not to interrupt educational activities. Although this system is suitable for teaching necessary and theoretical lessons in pandemic conditions, it is open to discussion about the effective teaching of a performance-based lesson such as voice training. In this direction, it is aimed to determine the opinions of the students studying in the music teaching undergraduate program about the teaching of voice education course with distance education and to have information about the feasibility and efficiency of the voice education course taught with distance education in this way. Ethics committee permission was obtained for the research according to the decision of Ankara Music and Fine Arts University Ethics Committee dated 07.01.2022 and numbered 2022/2. The survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the research and the opinions of a total of 105 students from 10 different universities were taken. The data were collected through a digital questionnaire and analyzed with the descriptive analysis technique. As a result of the research, in the survey, students mostly attend the lessons from home, they mostly prefer to use the phone to attend the lesson, they encounter technical problems in the lesson, they reach the resources they need for the lesson mostly on the internet and by contacting the academician who conducts the lesson, they mostly use YouTube videos as an auxiliary source for the lesson. Despite their positive opinions, the answers they gave to the last two questionnaires revealed that their motivation level against the voice education lesson taught with distance education was low and they found the lesson to be useful in the current conditions but found the overall efficiency of the lesson low.
