Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to determine the level of self-sufficiency for the choice of healthy food in children "Adapting, determining validity and reliability of the Healthy Food Self-sufficiency scale for children. Method: In this study of methodological quality, the adaptation, validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the Healthy Eating Self-Capacity Scale for Children has been conducted. The language equality is made. The scale was evaluated by 613 students in six schools selected from three different socio-economic levels in Ankara. Structural validity of the measurement was assessed with the explanatory factor analysis and verifying factor analysis, reliability test again using the correlation ratio and internal consistency with the Cronbach's alpha ratio. The scale original was developed in the 8-10-year-old group of girls, and in this study it was applied to primary school 4th grade students. The scale is made up of nine dimensions. The original Cronbach’s alpha is 0.62. In this study, the test-up test reliability of the scale is acceptable for both men (rho=0.541, p<0.01) and girls (rho=0,553, p<0,01) children. The scale has a good internal consistency for both gender groups (for men: α=0,677 and for girls: α=0,674). Result: The analysis results of the scale can be said that the scale adaptation is valid and reliable because the analysis results are in line with the original structure.
