The name of the work as Kutadgu Bilig shows the value given to the information in the period in which it is written, and the idea of the individual, the society and the state forms information as an important concept. The study and the disclosure of how the concept of knowledge is understood in the conceptual world of individuals who are directed to the life of society due to the state administration of the period is of importance in terms of our language and culture. It is necessary to determine the relationship between the knowledge concept and other concepts that build this importance and the dimensions of the knowledge concept area. This is one of the important topics that metaphors can be dealt with in determining the relationship between the concepts. Metafor is not just a language matter but our mind, our conceptual system, and our culture are closely related. Therefore, it is revealed exactly with the metaphorical matchings in which the concept of information is understood in Kutadgu Bilig. According to the metaphors identified, information comes to us as: light, light, consultant, guide, eye, seal, clay, weapon, crossing, goods, inci, gold, sea, river, clothing, food, water, medicine, smell, fire, brother, shell, decoration, spirit. These concepts in which knowledge is structured according to themselves are clearer in a dimension and more firm in the human mind. The knowledge and experience possessed determines the dimension of the concept of knowledge by putting in the forefront. It is the time that the man re-evaluates the concept of knowledge and makes it more meaningful. In Kutadgu Bilig, the dimensions of knowledge are defined through the concepts in which the dimensions of knowledge are guiding, protective, preventing from evil, nutritive, healing, maturing, hidden, distinguishing, revitalizing, transforming, and so in a metaphoric relationship. In this study, Kutadgu Bilig will discuss the conceptualization of knowledge according to the theory of conceptual metaphor, the metaphoric relationships it enters with other concepts and the outstanding dimensions in these relationships.

Based on this importance, the relationship between the concept of knowledge and other concepts and the dimensions of the knowledge concept field should be determined. At this point, metaphors are one of the important issues that can be addressed in determining the relationship between concepts. Metaphor is not only a matter of language, it is also closely related to our mind, concept system, and culture. For this reason, exactly how the concept of knowledge is interpreted in Kutadgu Bilig is revealed by metaphorical pairing in which information is entered. According to the detected metaphors, knowledge appears as a torch, a light, a counselor, a guide, a eye, a seal, a shield, a weapon, a shackle, a goods, a pearl, a gold, a sea, a river, a clothing, a food, a water, a medicine, a fragrance, a fire, a sister, a strainer, a ornament, a spirit. These concepts, in which knowledge is structured according to them, are clearer in terms of one dimension in the human mind and are fixed by experience. The acquired knowledge and experience determine one dimension of the concept of knowledge by bringing it to the forefront. Thus, the human of the period reconstructs the concept of knowledge and makes it more meaningful. In Kutadgu Bilig, the dimensions of knowledge such as guiding, protective, preventing evil, nurturing, therapeutic, maturing, inability to hide, distinctive, refreshing, and transformative are determined by the concepts that it enters into a metaphorical relationship. In this study, according to the conceptual metaphor theory, it will be discussed the conceptualization of knowledge, the metaphorical relationships it enters with other concepts and the prominent dimensions in these relationships in Kutadgu Bilig.
