The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of using cartoons in the teaching of the systems unit in our body of 6th Grades Science Lesson on students’ learning skills motivations. A quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group was used in the study. The study was conducted with two randomly selected groups at the sixth grade, one of which was a control group at a state school in Konya province during the 2018-2019 academic year. In both groups, pre-test and post-test measurements were performed. The curriculum of science course enriched with cartoons was applied to the students in the experimental group. For the control group students, the current science teaching program was applied. The lessons were taught in accordance with the constructivist approach and by the same teacher. The motivation scale for learning science which was developed by Dede and Yaman (2008) was used as a data collection tool. As a result, when the scores obtained from the pre-tests were analyzed statistically, it was confirmed that; there was no significant difference between the control and experimental groups. After six weeks of the practice, the motivation scale for science learning was re-applied as the final test. When the scores obtained from the posttests were analyzed, it was concluded that there was a significant difference in favour of the experimental group among the students ' motivations towards science learning.
