The island of Rhodes, the center of trade and culture throughout history and one of the most important bases of the Egean Sea, 16. In the century he entered the Ottoman rule. During the Ottoman era, these characteristics continued, and the different religions and cultures on the island were usually living together in peace. During the Trablusgarp War, the fact that the Italians captured Rhodos and the Twelve candidates, not returned as promised in the Treaty of the Servant, and that Greece wanted to establish sovereignty on the islands, continued to be a problem between Rhodos and the Twelve Islands for years. In Italy in 1922 the establishment of the fascist government under the administration of Benito Mussolini gained importance in the Egean Sea and the Mediterranean, Italy was intended to prove its superiority in the triangle formed over the islands during this period. Therefore, although there is no influence on the government, King III. Vittorio Emanuele and his family made a visit to Rodos and the Twelve Islands in 1929. This visit and the importance of the news reflected in the European press. This study examines the news and articles selected from various newspapers and the trip of the king and his family to Italy and the backgrounds of this trip.
