Türkiye’de yaşayan halkın Suriyelilere karşı tutumu, farklı birçok etkenin yanı sıra birlikte yaşamın, devleti yönetenlerin söylem ve uygulamalarının sonucunda şekillenmeye devam etmektedir. Bu bağlamda çalışmada halkın tutumunu şekillendirmede rolü olduğu düşünülen Suriyelilerle ilişki ve iletişim düzeyinin tutum üzerindeki etkisi incelenmiştir. 633 kişi ile yürütülen çalışmada yarı yapılandırılmış anket formu ve “Yerel Halkın Suriyelilere Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın bağımlı değişkeni tutum, bağımsız değişkenleri Suriyelilerle karşılaşma sıklığı, yakınlık ilişkisi (tanışıklık durumu), bireyin kendisi ve/veya çevresindekilerin sorun yaşaması ve Suriyeliler hakkında bilgi alma kaynağıdır. Verilerin analizi aşamasında SPSS programı kullanılarak betimsel istatistik, t testi ve varyans analizi (Anova) yapılmış, gruplar arası farklılığı ortaya koymak için post-hoc testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada karşılaşma, etkileşim, bilgi alma kaynağı ve sorun yaşama olarak belirlenen değişkenlerinin tutum üzerinde anlamlı farklılık oluşturup oluşturmadığı analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmanın bulguları halkın Suriyelilere karşı tutumunun etkileşim söz konusu olduğunda olumsuzdan olumluya doğru değiştiği yönündedir. Yakınlık ilişkisi azaldığında veya bir sorun yaşandığında tutum puan ortalamalarının düştüğü tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma “kişisel deneyimlerin tutum üzerinde önemli bir rol oynadığını” ortaya koymaktadır. Suriyelilerin halk tarafından kabulünün sorunsuz bir şekilde yürütülebilmesi, birlikte yaşama kültürünün oluşturulması için sosyal uyum çalışmalarında iki toplumu bir araya getirecek etkileşimli faaliyetlere öncelik verilmesi önerilmektedir.
The attitude of the people living in Turkey towards the Syrians continues to be shaped as a result of many different factors, as well as the life together, the speech and practice of the rulers of the state. In this context, the study has studied the impact of the relationship and level of communication with the Syrians, which is considered to have a role in shaping the attitude of the people. The study, which was conducted with 633 people, used a semi-configured survey form and the “Suriah Attitude Scale” of the local people. The study’s dependent variable is the attitude, the frequency of independent variables encountered with the Syrians, the close relationship (situation of familiarity), the individual himself and/or the people around the problem and the source of information about the Syrians. In the data analysis phase, the SPSS program was used to identify the differences between groups, with the use of visual statistics, t test and variance analysis (Anova). The study analyzed whether the variables identified as encounter, interaction, source of information and problem life create significant differences on attitude. The research finds that the people’s attitude towards the Syrians has changed from negative to positive when it comes to interaction. It has been found that when the proximity relationship decreases or a problem occurs, the attitude score average decreases. The research shows that “personal experiences play an important role in attitude.” It is recommended that the acceptance of the Syrian people can be carried out smoothly, priority to interactive activities that will bring together two communities in the social harmony work to create a culture of living together.
Attitudes of people living in Turkey towards Syrians continue to shape as a result of coexistence and discourses and practices of governments as well as many different factors. In this context, effects of levels of communication and relationship, which are considered to influence public attitudes towards Syrians, were examined in the study. In this study, which was conducted with 633 people, a semi-structured survey form and the “Local People’s Attitude Towards Syrians Scale” were used. The dependent variable of the study was attitude and the independent variables were the frequency of encounter with Syrians, familiarity (acquaintance), an individual’s and/or one of his or her relatives’ having trouble with Syrians, and the source of information about Syrians. Descriptive statistics, t test, and analysis of variance (ANOVA) were carried out for the data analysis using the SPSS software, and then post-hoc test was conducted in order to reveal the inter-group variance. The study analyzed whether the variables that were determined to be encounter, interaction, source of information, and having trouble caused a significant differences on attitude. The findings showed that the people’s attitudes towards Syrians changed from negative to positive as the interaction occurred. The average scores of attitude were found to decrease when familiarity diminished or a problem with Syrians was experienced. The research revealed “personal experiences play an important role on the attitude.” It is suggested that interactive activities that will bring two societies together be prioritized in social adaptation works to carry out the acceptance of the guests by the host community without any problems and create the culture of coexistence.
