Bu araştırmanın amacı Türkiye’de uygulanan nüfus politikalarının lise coğrafya ders kitaplarında yer alan nüfus konularının öğretimine etkisini incelemektir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda 1923-1963, 1964-1982, 1983 yılı ve sonrasında lise düzeyinde okutulan ders kitapları incelenmiştir. Araştırmada, genel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler, nitel araştırma analizlerinden biri olan doküman incelemesiyle analiz edilmiştir. Verilerin analiz edilmesiyle birlikte 1923-1963 yılları arasındaki uygulanan nüfusu artırmaya yönelik politikaların ders kitaplarına yansıdığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bu dönemde izlenilen nüfus politikası ders kitaplarında, doğal nüfus artışının yeterli olmadığı ve kalkınma için daha fazla artışın sağlanması gerektiği şeklinde vurgulanmaktadır. 1964-1982 yılları arasında nüfus artış hızını azaltmaya yönelik politika yapılmıştır. Bu dönemde yapılan politikalar ilk yıllardaki ders kitaplarına yansımamış ancak sonraki yıllarda okutulan ders kitaplarında yer almıştır. Bu kitaplarda nüfusun hızlı artışının üzerinde durulması gereken bir sorun olduğu ve bağımlı nüfusu artırdığı gibi ifadelerin yer aldığı görülmektedir. 1983 ve sonrasındaki dönemde okutulan ders kitaplar incelendiğinde belirli bir planlamanın yapılması gerekliliği üzerinde durulduğu görülmektedir. Sonuç olarak ders kitaplarında nüfusu artışını yükseltmeye yönelik politikaların izlendiği dönemde nüfus artışının sürekli olarak olumlu yönlerinden, nüfusu artış hızını azaltma yönünde politikaların izlenildiği dönemde ise nüfus artışının olumsuz yönlerine vurgu yapıldığı görülmektedir. Daha nitelikli bir eğitim süreci için öğretilecek konuların farklı boyutları birlikte ele alınmalıdır.
The aim of this research is to study the impact of the population policies applied in Turkey on the teaching of the population issues included in the high school geography curricula. For this purpose, the 1923-1963, 1964-1982, 1983 and later high school classes were studied. In the study, a general scan model was used. The obtained data was analyzed by a document review, which is one of the quality research analyses. With the analysis of the data, the conclusion was that the policies aimed at increasing the population implemented between 1923-1963 were reflected in the curricula. The population policy observed during this period is emphasized in the curriculum in the way that the natural population growth is not sufficient and more growth needs to be provided for development. In the years 1964-1982 there was a policy to reduce the rate of population growth. The policies made during this period were not reflected in the first years of teaching books but were included in the following years of teaching books. These books show that it is a problem that needs to be focused on the rapid growth of the population and that it includes expressions as it increases the dependent population. In 1983 and later, when the teaching books were studied, it appears that it was focused on the need to make a particular planning. As a result, in the period in which the policies aimed at raising the population growth are followed, the positive aspects of the population growth are constantly followed, and in the period in which the policies aimed at reducing the rate of population growth are followed, the negative aspects of the population growth are emphasized. The different dimensions of the subjects to be taught for a more qualified training process should be addressed together.
