31 Mart Olayı, Osmanlı-Türk siyasal hayatındaki önemli gelişmelerden biridir. II. Meşrutiyet’in ilanı ile İstanbul’da ortaya çıkan bu olay, ilk olarak askeri bir isyan olarak gelişmesine karşın zaman içerisinde dini bir hal almıştır. Birçok asker ve sivil can kaybının yaşanmasına sebep olan olaylar sonucunda II. Abdülhamit tahtan indirilmiş ve yerine V. Mehmed Reşad getirilmiştir. II. Meşrutiyet’in ilan edilmesi ile ortaya çıkan siyasi düşünceler, toplum içerisinde farklı kutuplaşmaların yaşanmasına neden olmuştur. Toplum içerisinde yaşanan bu gerilimin orduya da yansıması ile birlikte, ordu içerisinde mektepli-alaylı gerilimi ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu dönemde siyasi olarak etkinlik sağlamaya çalışan İttihat ve Terakki Cemiyeti, 31 Mart Olayı’nın ortaya çıkmasında önemli pay sahibi olmuştur. Meşrutiyet ilan edilmesine rağmen siyasi yönetime tam olarak hâkim olamayan İttihat ve Terakki Cemiyeti, siyasi istikrarsızlığın artmasına neden olmuştur. Bu makale, toplum ve ordu içerisinde yaşanan siyasi gerilimlerin sebep olduğu 31 Mart Olayı’nı inceleyerek, bu olayın Osmanlı-Türk siyasal hayatında yarattığı etkileri tartışmaktadır.
The March 31 event is one of the major developments in the Ottoman-Turkish political life. and II. This event that occurred in Istanbul with the announcement of the Legacy, despite its first development as a military rebellion, has become a religious state in time. A number of civilians and soldiers have been killed. He was brought down to the throne, and he was replaced by V. Mehmed Reşad. and II. The political thoughts arising with the proclamation of legitimacy have caused different polarizations within the society. With the reflection of this tension within the society to the army, the army has emerged with a massive tension. The Alliance and Terakki Society, which tried to provide political activity during this period, has been an important contribution to the occurrence of the March 31 incident. Despite the declaration of legitimacy, the Alliance and Terakki Society, which cannot fully rule over the political administration, has caused an increase in political instability. This article examines the March 31 incident, which is the cause of political tensions within the society and the army, and discusses the effects of this incident on the Ottoman-Turkish political life.
The 31 March Incident is one of the important developments in the Ottoman-Turkish political life. This event, which emerged in Istanbul with the declaration of the Second Constitutional Era, first developed as a military revolt, but in time it became a religious state. As a result of the events that caused many soldiers and civilian casualties, Abdul Hamid II. was brought down from the throne and replaced by Mehmed Reşad V. The political thoughts that emerged with the announcement of the Second Constitutional Era caused different polarizations in the society. With the reflection of this tension in the society to the army, the school-sarcastic tension emerged within the army. The Committee of Union and Progress, which tried to provide political activity in this period, had an important share in the emergence of the 31 March Incident. The Committee of Union and Progress, which could not fully control the political administration despite the proclamation of the Constitution, caused an increase in political instability. This article examines the 31 March Incident caused by political tensions in society and the military,and discusses the effects of this event on Ottoman-Turkish political life.
