So many results that aren't mine?

Abstract:

One of the critical factors for organizations to ensure their continuity is to increase employee performance. In this context, it is seen in the literature that there is numerous emphasis on the necessity of examining any factors that affect and may affect business performance. In particular, it seems useful to examine the psychological aspect of employees and evaluate their possible effects on employee performance, starting from the fact that the most valuable resource in the success of organizations is human. The ele-ments such as mood, motivation level, emotional intelligence or psychological capital level constitute the psychological aspect of the employee. Trust and psychological well-being are similar factors that reflect employee psychology. In this study, trust and psycho-logical well-being variables that reflect the psychological aspect of the employees were examined. In this context, it is aimed to examine the effects of trust in a coworker, which is one of the sub-dimensions of organizational trust, and psychological well-being on employee performance. Quantitative research has been designed for the study purpose. The sample of the study consists of 324 white and blue collar employees working in an Iron-Steel Casting company serving in the heavy industry sector. The data obtained through the survey were evaluated by using descriptive statistics, correlation and regression analysis. Research findings reveal that psychological well-being and trust in coworkers affect employee performance positively and significantly. As a result, it has been determined that the psychological aspect of the employees is one of the antecedents of employee performance in the context of this study.
