Abstract:

Today, universities are critized in terms of production and sharing of knowledge. Some thinkers believe that intellectual can express their ideas freely whereas the others think universities are perilous zones. Therefore, intellectuals should accept to be marginal and alien. Universities are inevitable centres for the distrubution of scientific knowledge. In this point, the meaning and rules of intellectuals the place of universities in the society and the position of intellectuals in the universities should be analyzed. The role of universities as canalizing and delivering of knowledge is undeniable. But the intellectuals are expose to some restrictive even threathening measures. The consiciousness of intellectuals about those restrictive measure is the focal point as they are figures of creating and sharing the knowledge. What are these taboos put in front of the concept university and intellectual? How could that be made clear and disappear?
