Abstract:

The increase in population in the area has led to the expansion of the cities spatially and vertically. Sustainability of limited natural resources, increased resilience levels in urban areas, prevention of urban problems can only be possible with the guidance of this urban development. The increasing mobility of people, goods and services due to the growing population, the increasing vehicle ownership in parallel has caused a variety of problems in urban transport. The proportional distribution of travel within the city to the types of transport is assessed in the measurement scores of the concept of viability in the world academic literature. The intensity of pedestrian movement and bicycle use, the rate of use of the bicycle as a vehicle in urban transportation is defined as environmentally sensitive, healthy and sustainable transportation, which increases urban accessibility and mobility. In the first part of the study, the concepts of urban sustainability and sustainability were defined and the importance of transport policies to produce a sustainable and sustainable city. In the second phase, various analyses were produced on the Krasnodar city selected as a sample area. In the final phase of the study, the route of the bicycle was determined with the help of the findings obtained from the results of the analysis. The aim of this study is to show out the results by illustrating the way cycling transportation planning should be in the framework of the concept of urban and small-scale cities.

Abstract:

The rapidly growing world population has brought population growth in urban areas. Increasing population in urban areas caused spatial and horizontal expansion of cities. Sustainability level in urban areas and prevention of urban problems before the occurance will only be possible by interactive planning. The increasing population in the urban scale, the increasing movement of people, goods and services and the increase in the ownership of the vehicle in parallel with it caused various problems in urban environment. The proportional distribution of the travels within the city to the transportation types is evaluated within the measurement criteria of the concept of livability in the world academic literature. The intensity of pedestrian movement and bicycle use, the rate of use of bicycles as a means of urban transportation is defined as the environmentally conscious, healthy and sustainable transportation that increases urban accessibility and mobility. In the first part of the study, urban livability and sustainability concepts are defined and the importance of transportation policies in order to produce a sustainable and livable city is mentioned. In the second stage, various analyzes were carried out for the city of Kirklareli. At the last stage of the study, the route of the bicycle path was determined with the help of the findings obtained from the analyzes. The aim of this study is to determine how bicycle transportation planning should be in the context of livable cities in middle and small scale cities.
