The formations that each formation feels its own have existed from the past to the present. One of these formations is the European identity, which today takes an important place in the relations between Turkey and the European Union. One of the great reasons that prevented Turkey from being a member of the European Union in the struggle that Turkey gave on behalf of being a member of the European Union is that Turkey doesn’t feel belonging to the “European Identity”. The European Union does not consider Turkey as a European. Therefore, this article will evaluate the formation and evolution of the "European" identity. The assessment will first begin by analyzing the origin of Europe and the assessment of the relations between Turkey and the EU will not be the purpose of this article, only the viewpoint of Turkey and Muslims in the context of the rest of Europe will be assessed.
