Abstract:

The main objectives of the countries are to the economic growth goal. In this context, health indicators and macroeconomic indicators have a significant impact on the country’s achievement of these goals. It is beneficial to invest in individuals who make society to improve the country’s economy and to stabilize the improved economy. Because the physical and mental health of these individuals makes them more active in the labour markets. In this study, the expected life in birth as a health indicator, the macroeconomic indicator of women and men’s youth unemployment was used. The relationship between Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, and Turkey’s six countries called the BRICS-T was studied, and the relationship between young women’s unemployment and young men’s unemployment. The study used the Toda-Yamamoto causality test on annual data between 1990 and 2021. According to the empirical findings, young man unemployment and birth expectancy life between young woman unemployment and birth expectancy life and young woman unemployment and young man unemployment have been identified a double causal relationship.
