Constipation is an important symptom that is among the functional disorders of the gastrointestinal system, affecting a person of all ages, threatening health. The frequency of constipation increases with age, with 40% of the elderly aged 65 years and over experiencing constipation problems. In the hospital environment, the frequency of constipation is seen at 71.7% in surgical clinics, at 95% of patients with heart disorders and at 100% of cancer patients. In recent years, non-pharmacological methods have been widely used in health care. One of these methods is acupressure, which is applied to reduce pain, to provide relaxation and relaxation, to increase gastrointestinal motility, to reduce symptoms to certain points on the acupuncture meridians and meridians in the body with press-press and ovma-like manipulations. One of the areas of use of acupressure that is frequently used in many different diseases and symptoms is constipation problem. Studies have found that acupuncture has a positive effect on constipation. Nurses need to be aware of non-pharmacological methods to manage the problem of constipation, which is among the symptoms they often encounter in the hospital. This article has studied the acupressure method known to be effective in preventing and eliminating constipation.
