Abstract:

Introduction and Purpose: This study is aimed at assessing the problems that family members who provide the care of the elderly individual and the care burden. Method and Requirements: This identificative type of research has been done in the Adana Heart District of Kışla and Bridge neighborhoods. In Kışla neighborhood 920, in Bridge neighborhood 298 were identified as a total of 1,218 elderly and the aim was to reach all the elderly living in both neighborhoods and being cared for at home. A total of 302 elderly and those who take care of these elderly were included in the study.The survey form developed by the researcher and the scale of the burden of the Zarite Care was applied to all participants. 84.8 percent of nurturers have health problems, 54.6 percent are psychological, 64.2 percent are physical, 43.0 percent are social and 53 percent are social. He said he had a economic problem. Women who participated in the study, those with a monthly income below the minimum wage, those with chronic illness, those who take care of the elderly of 11 years and older, those who expressed problems with the care and those who take care of the elderly with chronic illness, the care burden scale (BYÖ) was significantly high. CONTACT and RESULTS: This study has shown that the caregivers have physical, psychological, social and economic problems. In order to reduce the difficulties with care providers, it is necessary to open advisory centers for care providers, to establish day-to-day care houses for the elderly, and to support the care providers from a social and psychological point of view by public and private institutions.
