Abstract:

For centuries, man has been trying to find preventive and healing methods against diseases that threaten his life during his struggle with nature. These methods, which are verbally transmitted from generation to generation with the belief of "make-up", based on observation and experience, are called public medicine or public subjectivity. Thanks to the orientation of today’s urban people to the natural life elements and the use of people living in rural areas in their daily lives, public medicine continues to exist. Therefore, the change and development of traditional public medicine and methods of treatment over time has become an important field of work. This study will focus on the factors under which traditional medicine, despite the developments in modern medical practices, remains under its existence. Traditional public provision has been scaned and compiled in the focus of the topic of the long-term national publications and the thesis works published in the national thesis center. These practices, defined as traditional or supportive medicine, shall be organized in a scientific framework, in accordance with the legislation of "Traditional and Complementary Medicine Applications (GETAT)" and shall be exercised by specialists trained by the Ministry of Health. Thus, all these traditional methods of treatment will be recorded and transferred to future generations.
