Afghan Peace Process: Pakistan’s Role as a Mediator

Abstract:

This paper aims to discuss the significant mediator role of Pakistan in US-Afghan relations. Being the neighboring country, Pakistan has faced numerous challenges and threat to security like Terrorism. Pakistan is playing a mediator role to facilitate Afghanistan to get divest of Taliban. This study elaborated the political situation of Afghanistan, the US troop’s deployment in Afghanistan, and the role of the Afghan government in the US Taliban war. It was focused on the US-Taliban talks and the peace agreements between the two parties. The regional stakeholders including China, India, Iran, and Russia are all trying to secure their regional interests from ongoing Afghan peace.
