Abstract:

The books are in the life of people from birth. Books can be read at school, at home, at the hospital, in the trip, in the park, wherever desired. The books can be used not only when they are healthy, but also when they are sick. According to the World Health Organization, health is defined as "not only the absence of illness and disability, but a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being." In order to a full state of well-being, it is also necessary to meet the basic needs of the person, as well as the cognitive, social, and cultural needs. This requirement can be fulfilled through books in children’s hospitals. The fact that the books that children will use in children’s hospitals are rigorously selected, the developmental checking of their suitability to the child, the determination of the areas of use and purpose of the books are very important for the high benefit of the child in the hospital environment. Therefore, in the collection, it is intended to study the use of books in children’s hospitals. In children’s hospitals, books can be used for biblical therapy purposes, in hospital preparatory training, in bed support studies, in hospital classes and in play rooms.
