Abstract:

It is not possible to say that the trantision process for multi-party system in Turkey was not problematic. Moreover, the things experienced rural areas are also the basis of the problems we experience now in behalf of democratization process. Menderes’s hometown Aydin has been one of the pioneering cities of Turkish political life since second constitutionalistperiod, many important politicians brought up here and various examples of political life was seen in here. Adnan Menderes was one of them. As a youg politician who was discovered by Atatürk in his visit to Aydin in 1931, Adnan Menderes continued his political actions under the umbrella of CHP. But his real process of coming into stage was concided in the establishment of DP. On 21.09.1945 Menderes had to resign from CHP with his discharge from the party after his oppositions of party policies. DP which was established at the end of 1946 would be a milestone in his life. This study is based on Adnan Menderes’s attendance in DP where he would continue his political activities by resigning from CHPin the process of multi-part system in which Turkey experienced one of the breaking processes its history of democracy and his political actions in Aydin in that period.
