Abstract:

From the early ages to today and in the period we live, the source of art events is limited to the classical aesthetic understanding of human fears, excitement, fantasy, understanding and self-recognition of nature, the effort to overcome the trauma of the period in which it lives and reflect. In this respect, in the work done; the importance and necessity of the grotesque concept that seeks place in art, the uncomprehensibility of the complementary characteristics of the beautiful and ugly in whole, the imposition of a task to the artist only to reflect the beautiful constitutes our main problems. In this respect, the images in the works of Francisco Goya, an important artist who lived in the early 19th century, were grotescally evaluated. The artist’s work discussed the cause of grotesque images, especially terrible, strange and painful. Classical artists seeking to reach beauty take the center of beauty in the production of their works. This will last until the esthetics becomes science. If you look at the areas where the aesthetics study sensitivity and sensitivity, it is easy to understand that the grotesque elements are also included in these areas. Otherwise, the scope of the esthetics will be limited. So it is clear that concepts like ugly, ugly, strange, tragic, funny, good, bad, as well, have become an important measure of aesthetics that studies senses. Because these concepts come into the sense as well as beauty.
