Abstract:

In the modern era, a very strong relationship is established between literature and identity, and literature is often seen and used as field of identity building. Literature and identity are dynamic and changeable phenomena. This feature is also seen in the literature and identity building of the former Soviet Kurds. In order to explore this topic, this article focuses on the identity orientations of Soviet Kurdish literature and discusses the identity changes of this literature in a political and social context. Therefore, firstly, it traces the traumatic identities of Yazidi Kurds, as an ethno-religious community, who were exposed to the wrath of the Ottoman State in the second half of the nineteenth century and at the beginning of the twentieth century, and then deals with the building of Soviet identity among Soviet Kurds and its representation in their literature. Finally, it examines the emergence of national identity in their literary texts and the theme of the representation and representation of this identity.
