Abstract:

In Turkey, the "East Turkestan", the name of the official known name in the People's Republic of China "Xinjiang", came up with the Chinese and Uighurs in clashes historical process. The conflicts known as the "East Turkestan Question" are based on the different theses of the two actors. The geopolitical, geostrategic and economic importance of the region has been shaped by China's implementation of various policies in order to provide stability within the framework of the security perception of East Turkistan. China's East Turkestan policies differed with the periodic change of the international system with dynamic dynamics. With the disintegration of Soviet Russia in 1991, China's East Turkestan policies turned into repressive. In the period after 2001, the global terrorism policy and the uprisings of the Uighurs against the oppressive rule were described as separatist and independent movements and were named as China's internal problem within the framework of the war on terrorism. Periodically, China's East Turkestan policies have attracted attention in the international community. While Russia supported China as a result of the Chechnya problem, the United States reacted against China's policies. Turkey is behaving cautiously Although the Uighurs of East Turkestan who emigrated from China to refrain from criticizing the policies adopted country. In addition, Amnesty International and Human Rights Organization drew attention in the international community by preparing reports against China's East Turkestan policies. The aim of this article is to analyze China's East Turkestan policy and the attitude of the international community towards these policies in the light of the mentioned information.
