Abstract:

Lighting is one of the most important factors affecting visual comfort. The choice of the right lighting system in the educational buildings positively affects the performance of the student and the trainer, while the wrong lighting causes eye drought, turmoil, blind vision, eye fatigue and headache. In this study, the lighting conditions in the department laboratory, which is the building of the University of Ege, Construction Engineering department and the building add-on, have been studied in terms of user health. In the framework of the study, the level of lighting in the interior environment, the types of lighting and the importance of it were discussed in terms of user health. During the 2015-2016 academic year spring period and the 2016-2017 academic year fine period, the Luxmetre device has been used to measure the level of light in a total of 14 different interiors, including classrooms, conference halls, workshop halls, computer rooms, technical drawing classrooms, stairs, corridors and laboratories. Natural lighting, artificial lighting and natural lighting lighting levels are measured and measurement results are compared to TS EN 12464-1 Standard. For classes in different floors and directions, the light values in different hours of the day and in different months of the year have been exhausted and recommendations have been presented for the correction of the deficiencies.
