The aim of the present study is to compare PBL session performances of Dokuz Eylül University School of Medicine (DEUSM) students in their first and third years. The Tutorial Student Assessment Form ratings attributed to the 2000-2001 academic year’s firstyear students are compared with the same group of students’ 2002-2003 academic year ratings as third-year students. This form, is a five-point scale consisting of 20 items grouped under four main titles; knowledge use, reasoning & self-directed learning, communication skills and assessment skills.
